Good principles

Creating a collection is really difficult, and certainly is something that is totally beyond me. However, according to my experience, and the information that I have my clients, I could establish what might be a good collection.
First, the consumer purchasing power has declined, there are multiple factors to explain this, but unfortunately it's the truth, consumption has been directed towards products that require high involvement, and on the contrary, are versatile and we can not combined with others already holds, therefore a good principle is that the collection will allow us lots of combinations between different brands in the same, such collections are imposed on us headed for fixed combinations where no can alter the components of the product.

Although the client does not seem willing to make large payouts, we must not forget that we have a fundamentally impulsive buying, which is very important to offer the customer many possible combinations for the product to be acquired. One element to take into account when preparing the products of our establishment is that the products 'core' are found at very low cost, are preferable products where design and quality are core values, not to mention the price factor is indicated by the type of business and customer. We should therefore maintain a consistency between our products, our customers and our business, but occasionally products slightly, only slightly more expensive can have a good performance, we must bear in mind that we all whims.
It is essential that our sales space to communicate with our customers, external and internal appearance must be consistent with our target consumers, lighting, music, colors, and of course the product inside must be conspiring to help us make the sale. Unfortunately not many so-called traditional retailers understand these needs.
The age factor is very important in fashion, however we perceive ourselves is increasingly young, but customers buy according to their age in some trade or other, to define our site is a difficult task, but extremely important and to establish the definition type of customer that we will manage, develop codes and products that we offer.
However, and this is an item that we are always talking with our customers, large adjustments are made only when something goes wrong, we should not make major changes to our customers slipping, but the road to the great changes is done by small adjustments, which are always needed.
Listen to your customers, find the product you requested, present it in a suitable space is a good beginning, but not a recipe.

Accessories

While textiles drops like a stone, its sales are shrinking, and competition and the consumer price declines cause and therefore reduce the benefits.
But not everything will be bad, while the clothing is reduced its market share, supplements are exprimentando unprecedented growth, a proof of this is that every time we find a space for these products in traditional multi-brand stores, these products demonstrate their effectiveness in both traditional business and in single-brand stores, providing customers meet their consumption needs.
The supplement is a product of significantly lower the price of textiles. This makes them indispensable complement in shops and its role looks set to continue rising.

Non Stop

It is amazing to think that we continue to work August 16 presenting collections, and more importantly, buying customers. Contrary to what anyone might think that's not good news, it just shows the uncertainty in the market, which seems to be endless.
The tendency of the latter seasons continues, customers are focusing their purchases on loose clothing and low commitment, dresses, jeans, t-shirts has become the "must." Total Look collections imposed on specialists in a particular type of garment, and collections of cocktail party and continue to a minimum.

Impressions Spring - Summer 2011

It's amazing to think that we can consider July 19, at the midpoint of the spring season - summer 2011, but it is, the anticipation is the main factor for a "good results" in the sale. And all this despite the SIMM has been delayed until early September, which would simply certify the little attention that gives the customer the competition. However, to be honest there are still those who prefer to wait for the SIMM before making their purchases, as I say a minority.
Our experience tells us that the first 40 days of sales make up the bulk of sales, and unfortunately the customer the impression this season is unchanged from earlier. However, there are certain products if they are sued, casual clothing, jeans, shirts, clothing mostly do not involve too great an investment. The great harm of this trend is focused on the pledge ceremony and cocktail events involving major investments garments.
Despite all our clients find an interest in clothes that although the price is higher, more design and fantasy have what many call the pledge of "whim."

The variable China

In another post we talked about the problems associated with production in China by some production companies are located there.
In the last week we learned that this situation continues to deteriorate, affecting the cost, but what is worse on the sounding made above, these increases are reflected immediately manufacturers.
It is quite possible that this bill pass the Chinese producers, and would not rule out that movements start to look to find alternative workshops with cheaper costs. Would not be bad that even one is brought back to Europe.

Rebates

We have ten days of sales and many of the customers with what we have spoken say that the results are not as good as expected.
I can not help thinking that most businesses focus their sales in the wrong way.
Most all shops down sales periods too long, where they gradually put discounts, this prevents the concentration of sales.
The theory states that sales periods should be short and normal selling season, should be as long as possible.
It is very important to let customers know the conditions under which we will develop our offers by clearly stating the periods, and discounts, make two deals on the initial and ending bids, which aims to clean up the most of our stock. Of course this is only theory.
Unfortunately the current situation and the need for sales leads that businesses continued to live in a special sale.

An Economic Stroke

In a scenario like the one we live it would be normal prices fall fashion, the reason is apparent consumption has fallen and a good way to activate it is through lower prices, so that consumption is attractive for the client.
However, we find that prices are rising, and this can be explained by a number of factors:

  1. Most manufacturers have relocated their production in Asia, the payment to Asian suppliers produce in dollars. In recent years we have enjoyed a strong Euro, with changes above 1.45 against the dollar, currently in a change of 1.19 €.
  2. In the last year the price of cotton has risen by 46%.
  3. Wage costs in China have increased, on the one hand the development of technology and automotive industries that offer higher wages to their workers, wage pressures have caused by these so that their wages rise in proportion to what they offer these new sectors, this has meant improved conditions for workers (vations, conferences), and of course pay an increase of 25% over last year. On the other hand social security have increased in proportion to their salaries. These costs are expected to continue its growth in the coming months.
  4. Oil continues its unstoppable rise directly impacting on all synthetic fabrics, as well as transport costs and energy.

The result of all this is that we will suffer higher prices in our fashion, so we have to save up enough money if we have our fashion and wardrobe selection.

Unlimited Dress Spring - Summer 2011

The fashion world moves on impulse, looking for the right stimuli to excite the market. To attract customers to buy.
Despite the difficult situation, there are products that are demanded by the market insistintemente. Every season has that product fetish that every collection should go, and that product for the spring summer season is undoubtedly the dress. Not only that product, but if an essential product for the customer primarily the product demand, and that's because "the street" as claimed.
It is for this reason that many collections reinforce this line, or launch new collections. Because fashion is alive, and we must listen and react in time to market, and this is not easy. But big companies like El-Internationale reposition a product they already had to reinforce it into a product of peak demand.

Trends Spring - Summer 2011

Yesterday I attended a seminar on trends for spring-summer 2011, taught by Sarti.
Among the trends discussed during the seminar we can speak of Mix-Match, a technique that involves mixing two garments with different styles or different tissues.
Also this season we will find different styles that mark different collections, and Trash Grunge styles as more villains that'll see you next summer 2011.
However, as part of the Mix & Match styles are opposite preppy, collegiate-style clothing and university, blazers with badges, pictures. Boyfriend outfits also had settled, those articles of male and oversize court in the case of women, and quite the opposite and almost feminine tailored garments for men, plus pads found on many garments.
The transformed sportswear reach the street providing a comfortable and sporty look. Calling this Sport Chic trend.
Denim is imprescidinble acid washed, torn to the end. Animal prints in bright colors but away from their natural colors. Prints and upholstery also comes as a trend.
As for the color range of blues that have also worked during the winter season continue, purple, orange, yellow and natural palette of brown, beige very appropriate for the Boho Chic style.
This is a first approach regarding the trends, soon begin to see the collections and we can confirm the prevailing styles.
